I have to admit I feel like I’m putting myself out there a little bit with this one. Maybe you’ll think this is weird. Maybe you won’t think it sounds good. Maybe you think the video is…something, I don’t know.
On the other hand, this might be just what you’re looking for. A while back, some youtube subscribers expressed a desire to have some recorded music like what I play in my Playing in the Background video. One viewer wrote, “I have been searching FOREVER to find some keyboard scores to play during altar times and conclusion of sermons since I have no keyboard player.”
So over the last twelve months or so, I recorded six long stretches of instrumentals, connecting each into the previous one for over seventy-five minutes of seamless background music. I reckon the music may be good accompaniment for personal prayer or devotional time, as well as corporate ministry time in absence of a musician.
The recording didn’t take much time – that sort of playing is second nature at this point. (I wonder how many years of my life I’ve spent playing keyboard at the end of church services…hmm.) What did take some time was the sound design, but the sounds that came out eventually became my Glue Pads custom Mainstage patches. So if you like the sounds on the record, and you use Mainstage, be sure to purchase that collection.
As for the album, it’s free if you like. If you really like, you could even buy me some coffee. Not the already made, ready to drink kind, but the unroasted beans. You see, the Mrs. has one budget category that includes both my extravagancies, premium unroasted coffee beans and running shoes. While a pair of running shoes would be way too much to ask in exchange for some music, you could personally sponsor one pound of coffee beans for $8-10 US. ;-p
At any rate, I hope you enjoy the music, whether for your personal use or your church’s use. Below you’ll find the “purchase” link to download it (for seamless transitions between tracks) and a playlist to listen to as much as you want in your browser. Thanks for reading and for listening!
