With two Fluent Piano courses now available, I want to help you decide which is a better fit for you.
When you look at the course comparison chart, you see many similarities. Both courses will help you with rhythm, left hand technique, and finger agility. They are similarly priced.
Now the differences
Fluent Piano Chords will help you play piano chords really well. Fluent Piano Melodic will help you learn to improvise melodies in between the chords you play. See the video below for examples of the different approaches.
There is also a difference in experience required. FP Chords requires no prior experience. FP Melodic requires some previous experience and the ability to locate notes on the keyboard.
My general recommendation is this: if you feel that you have room for growth in the way you play chords, whether it be using inversions, understanding how chords relate to each other and with the key of the song, or knowing how to change your chords for a more colorful and refined sound, then start with Fluent Piano Chords.
The reason is a solid foundation for chord playing will help you integrate what we’re trying to do with Fluent Piano Melodic.
